01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Some diners say that when they order lunch nigiri at the counter, each piece arrives in the order it is made. One visitor particularly enjoyed the sushi rice’s satisfyingly chewy texture, making this a pleasant way to savour each piece as it arrives. Lunch nigiri sets are available in 8 pieces for ¥950, 10 pieces for ¥1,300, and 12 pieces for ¥1,650. All are listed with soup, so you can choose a lighter meal or a set with more variety.

One diner who ordered 12 pieces described the sea bream soup as delicate and gentle in flavour, and also remembered the scallop and aubergine. Another lunch visitor praised the generous thickness of the toppings on the 10-piece nigiri set and its red miso soup. For a bowl with a variety of toppings, chirashi is ¥1,000, or ¥1,300 for a large serving. The menu lists tuna, shrimp, octopus, squid and conger eel among its toppings. Tekka-don, a bowl centred on tuna, is another option at lunch: ¥1,000, or ¥1,300 for a large serving. Choose nigiri to enjoy different pieces one at a time, or a bowl of sushi rice and tuna, depending on what you feel like.

For a further range of toppings, the 9-piece premium nigiri set includes medium-fatty tuna, sea urchin, simmered conger eel and crab meat. The 13-piece premium set adds four recommended pieces to the premium selection. The smaller set is a good starting point; if you would like to take your time over more pieces, including some of the toppings that catch your eye, consider one of the larger sets. Lunch is served on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 to 14:00. Visitors have also mentioned the relaxed atmosphere and counter seating, making it a comfortable setting for a solo lunch or a leisurely meal focused on sushi.
